Michael Leitner

Michael Leitner is a Partner and Senior Managing Director at Stonepeak. He brings more than three decades of experience investing in, governing, and repositioning infrastructure businesses across fiber, wireless, satellite, data centers, and cloud services. Prior to Stonepeak, Mr. Leitner was Co-Head of Direct Lending and Special Situations at BlackRock and a Managing Partner at Tennenbaum Capital Partners, where he co-led the firm’s sale to BlackRock.

Leitner began his career as a Vice President in the Mergers and Acquisitions group at Merrill Lynch. Throughout his career, Leitner has served on over 25 public and private company boards, including as a member or Chair of Audit, Compensation, Executive, and Governance committees. He currently serves as a Director on the boards of Astound Broadband and Xplore Communications, board observer to Delta Fiber, and as a board advisor to TAP Advisors.

Leitner holds a B.A. in Economics from the University of California at Los Angeles and an M.B.A. from the University of Michigan. He is also an active member of YPO (Young Presidents’ Organization) and a licensed EMT in New York State.
